Shaikh Sa’ud bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad Aal-Shuraim from the Haraqees of the Banu Zayd was born in Riyadh in the year 1386 Al-Hijrah.

Shaikh Sa’ud graduated in the field of ‘Aqeedah and Modern Madhahib’ from Imam Muhammad ibn Sa’ud University in Riyadh in the year 1409 AH. Thereafter, he received a Masters degree from “Ma’had Al-’aali Lilqadhah” institute in the year 1413 AH.

Shaikh Sa’ud also received knowledge directly from many pious Shuyookh such as Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz and Shaikh Abdullah Al-Jibreen… and many others.

Shaikh Shuraim was initially employed as a teacher in “Ma’had Al-’aali Lilqadhah” in 1410 AH.
In 1412 AH, he was made Imam and Khateeb of Masjid ul Haraam by the order of Custodian of the Two Holy Harams, King Fahad bin AbdulAzeez Aal-Saud.
In 1413 AH, by Royal order, he was appointed judge in the High court of Makkah Mukarramah.
In 1414 AH, the High approval was made for him to teach in the Holy Masjid.
In 1416 AH, he pursued the Doctorate degree in the Umm Al-Qura University of Makkah.

He has also served as Dean of the College of Shariah And Islamic Studies at Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

Apart from regular prayers, Shaikh Sa’ud Ash-Shuraim has also led the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers at Masjid Al-Haraam since 1412 AH. This year he was leading the first 10 Rakat of Taraweeh on even nights of Ramadhan until the 20th night. Thereafter, he led the first 6 Rakat of Tahajjud until the end of Ramadhan 1432 AH. He also gave the Friday Khutbah on 26th of Ramadhan 1432 AH.
